#1 Lumberjack World Championships, Rainer Shooter from MTE
The Lumberjack World Championships is a 3 day competition to determine a World champion in a single lumberjack event. Over the course of 3 days hundreds of competitors are compete to make it into the next day through various time trials in their event. I competed in two sawing disciplines, the Men's one man crosscut and finished 4th in the world title race and in the two man crosscut my partner Cassidy Scheer and I finished 12th. For chopping disciplines I chopped my way into the semi finals in both the Underhand Chop and the Standing block chop.
Overall it was a great to represent MTE who has a long standing partnership with the LWC for providing all the white pine for the sawing events throughout the entire weekend. It was really special to have the privilege to carry the Menominee Nation Flag up to Hayward and have it flown with the flags from other countries around the world like Canada, Japan, the Czech Republic, and Sweden.
