U.S. First Lady Dr. Jill Biden Visits Menominee Nation
U.S. First Lady Dr. Jill Biden visited Menominee Nation on Tuesday, October 10th, 2023 to learn about the Menominee Indian Tribe’s commitment to sustainable agriculture. Dr. Biden is a known advocate for tribes, with the Biden Administration providing $1 million in funding toward the Menominee Tribe’s sustainable forest management practices last year.
Accompanied by U.S. Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, Dr. Biden made stops at the Menominee sawmill in Neopit, the College of Menominee Nation, Keshena Primary School and the Menominee Hotel, where she spoke at the Women’s Empowerment Summit.
