Sawlogs for Sale
Sawlogs
Sawlogs are the rawest form of lumber. Essentially, they're fallen or cut trees that are large enough to be processed into planks. Purchasing your wood in this state presents an opportunity to save a little bit of money while adding the freedom of processing your lumber to the exact shapes, dimensions, and specifications you desire. We highly recommend sawlogs for those who have the means to precisely saw planks and make the most of each tree.
Eastern Hemlock
At MTE Wood, we can professionally and sustainably harvest Eastern Hemlock sawlogs for your unique application. All sawlogs are at least 8 inches in diameter and between 8 and 16 feet tall (more or less random based on the tree's growth). Hemlock wood is great for a wide variety of applications including light framing, sheathing, roofing, subflooring, pallets, general millwork, and much more. Being as strong, stable, and applicable as it makes Eastern Hemlock one of the most sought after lumbers on the market.
Sustainable Sawlog Harvesting
At MTE Wood, it is our mission to maintain healthy tree populations and forest ecosystems. That's why we are committed to processing our lumber at an annually sustainable rate. Our plan is designed to provide for maximum diversity in the forest (species composition, age class distribution, structural diversity both within and between stands), habitat diversity, and to optimize growth and sawlog quality of the forest timber resource.
